ABOVE by Isla Morley is in my Great Reads category. It combines the abduction and imprisoning of a young girl with post apocalyptic themes. She explores the human spirit, our fears, our hopes and our propensity to draw together as a species. Isla is interested in the idea that good will triumph or even that goodness is part of our nature. Through Adam's eyes she rekindles our wonder at the world around us. Adam shows us that it is possible to put fear aside, to embrace what is in front of us.

Reading through James Clear's article gives some insight into fear, FEAR TELLS US WHAT WE HAVE TO DO. James sums this up with a great quote from Steven Pressfield, the author of THE WAR OF ART: "the more fear we feel about a specific enterprise, the more certain we can be that that enterprise is important to us and to the growth of our soul." I'm using this to remind myself to push though any reluctance I feel, because often reluctance is resistance to change.
